Ferozepur: The Counter Intelligence Wing of the Punjab Police has made a significant breakthrough in Ferozepur district with the arrest of two individuals and the recovery of a 1.6 kilogram highly dangerous explosive material, a remote-controlled Improvised Explosive Device (IED). The incident has sent shockwaves across Punjab, and security agencies have been put on high alert.
According to police sources, the Counter Intelligence Wing received a tip-off regarding the suspicious activities of certain elements in the Ferozepur area. Acting swiftly on this information, the team launched a special operation. During this operation, police apprehended two individuals and seized a remote-controlled IED containing 1.6 kg of RDX (Research Department Explosive) from their possession.
The identities of the arrested individuals and their affiliations with any terrorist organizations are currently under investigation by the police. Preliminary investigations suggest that the IED was intended for use in carrying out a major terrorist incident in Punjab. Police are conducting intensive interrogations of the accused to gather further information.
Speaking about the successful operation, a senior official of the Counter Intelligence stated, “Our team has averted a major tragedy by acting in a timely manner. We are making all efforts to extract more information from the arrested individuals and are working to dismantle their network.”
