Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad City Crime Branch apprehended one person with a Bolero jeep containing 18 bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor (180 ml each) and 328 cans of beer, worth ₹43,316, from a parking lot under the Viratnagar Char Rasta Overbridge. The total value of the seized items is ₹5,93,378.
The Crime Branch team was on patrol in the Ahmedabad city area to eradicate prohibition and gambling. Based on a tip, they conducted a raid at the parking lot under the Viratnagar Char Rasta Overbridge and arrested the accused.
The arrested individual has been identified as Pravinkumar Kavaji Bodat, 30 years old, residing in Amjara village, Nala Fala, Binchhiwada, Dungarpur district, Rajasthan.
The person who supplied the liquor, Champa Ben, residing in Ahmedabad city, is currently wanted.
The seized items include:
* 18 bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor (sealed), valued at ₹1,758
* 328 cans of beer, valued at ₹41,558
* 1 mobile phone, valued at ₹500
* 1 Bolero jeep, valued at ₹5,50,000
* 10 cloth bags, value ₹0
The total value of the seized items is ₹5,93,378.
A case has been registered at DCB Police Station under sections 65(A)(E), 116(B), 98(2), and 81 of the Prohibition Act, and further investigation is underway.
