Vadodara: A potentially large scam involving fake Fire No Objection Certificates (NOCs) has come to light in Vadodara city. The fake NOCs reportedly bear the signature of the then In-charge Chief Fire Officer, Nikunj Azad.
According to sources, these counterfeit NOCs, complete with the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) stamp, have been circulating in the market, raising serious concerns. The Fire Department’s current Chief Officer, Manoj Patil, has initiated a thorough investigation into the matter.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the signature on the fraudulent NOCs belongs to Nikunj Azad, who was serving as the In-charge Chief Fire Officer at the time. However, the authenticity of the signature is a key aspect of the ongoing inquiry. Additionally, the unauthorized use of the VMC’s official stamp is also suspected.
The purpose and the individuals behind the creation and circulation of these fake NOCs are currently unknown. However, there is a strong possibility of significant financial irregularities linked to these counterfeit documents.
Fire Department Chief Officer Manoj Patil stated, “This is a very serious issue, and we are conducting an in-depth investigation. Strict action will be taken against anyone found to be involved in this scam.”
The incident has caused a stir within the Vadodara Municipal Corporation administration, raising several questions. The police may also join the investigation to help uncover the full extent of this fake NOC racket. More startling revelations are expected in the coming days as the investigation progresses.
